Honestly bless the heart of the dumb but kind monk who wrote this one down
The too nice heir who got told to take the vows so succession is clear for his back-biting younger brother vibes. Just illuminating books and meditating on St.Francis.
TIL hedgehogs don't carry apples on their backs. Apparently it's just a common misconception in slavic countries :shrug-outta-hecks:
I bet some dude got absolutely hammered and put an apple on a hedgehog to mess with somebody.
Don't even need to be hammered, that just sounds like an uncle or dad prank on a child where you let the kid grow up thinking it's real.
Then the kid becomes a monk who can read and write, and no one knows enough to dispute it
I bought my niece a very cute picture book called Hedgehugs, which is all about some hedgehog pals that want to hug, but they're too spikey. I don't want to spoil the ending, but
spoiler
They eventually figure out a way to cover up their spikes and give each other a great big hug. :meow-hug:
Anyway, the book is adorable and this picture reminded me of it.
Medieval Europeans were on a mission from God to get dumber as quickly as possible
