    TIL hedgehogs don't carry apples on their backs. Apparently it's just a common misconception in slavic countries :shrug-outta-hecks:

      I bet some dude got absolutely hammered and put an apple on a hedgehog to mess with somebody.

        Don't even need to be hammered, that just sounds like an uncle or dad prank on a child where you let the kid grow up thinking it's real.

        Then the kid becomes a monk who can read and write, and no one knows enough to dispute it
