I have an itch to fight some green capitalists on this matter. I really want to take this whole notion of "fixing capitalism will fix the climate".

For climate doom, just check the UN's reports, including the IPCC

Jason Hickel is a leftist that talks about degrowth and his academic publications include big meta-studies that conclude we're headed towards well over 1.5C. He also explains how this can be avoided by policies that would essentially require socialism.

I don't have sources on China off the top of my head, but I do know that they're investing massively in clean energy and transit, which are major elements of tackling global warming. They're doing a ton unilaterally and I think might be the only industrialized nation meeting their international climate commitments.

IF you can navigate some of the brainworms r/collapse should give you more than enough. Nothing changed(about the climate) from the last time I used to frequently read that sub over 2 years ago.

Some random posts, look for the climate tag.

G-20 nations provided $693 billion in support for coal, fossil fuels in 2021 — report

Europe’s climate warming at twice rate of global average, says report.

This is low on details but China is expected to invest 75 trillion (with a T) into carbon neutral initiatives.

They also have planted more trees than any other country in the world, and are a global leader in anti-desertification efforts.
