    All kookaburra species are listed as least concern. Australian law protects native birds, including kookaburras.

      Keep in mind that Australian conservation laws don't seem to apply to development companies. A couple of years ago a development company bulldozed over and massacred a fuckton of Koalas and I don't think they were even punished. Although maybe another Aussie here can confirm.

      Either way, Australia is developing land at an alarming rate to create jobs, and this is absolutely devastating our native wildlife.

        Last time I was in straya I saw some pundits on tv arguing about the state of the coal industry and it was like the trolls in the hobbit arguing in front of the dwarves about how to eat them. With all the wildfires and coral bleaching and invasive cacti I feel like I have to go back one last time before it's all ruined.

    My friend feeds them and sent me a picture of a couple on her back porch, one of which had a bandicoot corpse in it's mouth and I didn't realize they were murder hobos that kill animals the same size.
