God that car analogy is terrible
All cars do the same thing. Your training, on the other hand, literally dictates how you will be spending the majority of your life.
Basically he's saying "Sorry Poor's, you don't get to follow your dreams."
His point is that the quality of instruction is not that much different, which is true vs. a state school (usually the cheapest option). It definitely doesn't scale linearly with cost, much like luxury vehicles. Most of the cost gets wrapped up in being a status symbol.
A decent education costs $30-70k depending on variables. Sometimes less.
Exactly! That sort of logic is also applied to anyone who gets a non-moneymaking degree. "Oh you got your degree in [anything other then STEM™️ or Business] good luck getting a job loser", is a narrative that runs so damn rampant in our culture. It sucks so much. Katz should be able to get their degree/certification/whatever without being sent to debtor's prison.
You can get a STEM degree from a state school, or a private institution. Often the private institution is more prestigious, (e.g. Harvard, MIT) but there are plenty of state schools with good reps (Cal Poly).
I It's called the American Dream because you have to be asleep to believe it.
It's not going to get better. Dom't look for it. Be happy with what you got. They OWN YOU.
