It did feel like Iran would break through from 80 minutes on. The first goal was great; the second goal was just because Wales had given up, there were four attacking players against two defenders.
Wales are almost certainly out of the tournament now. Even if they beat England (which is a small chance), they'd have 4 points, and most teams with 4 points get eliminated.
This result means it's all on the line in Iran-versus-Great-Satan on the 29th.
Iran was just so damn quick on the counterattack, really felt like they were purposely drawing Wales into attack so they could get some openings.
I was either way on this though, because Wales pulling a fairytale win over England would be just as satisfying as Iran over the US.
I don't want to jinx it, but the funniest possible outcome is the US getting wrecked by Iran.

Wales was a danger in this match, and I wouldn't say the US is a pushover for Iran, but I think Iran's shown a good change in tact and intensity from their game against England.
well doing better against the Welsh team than against the English isn't surprising.
That's basically the same as doing better against Saudi Arabia than against Germany
Assuming :england-cool: beat :amerikkka: today, then Iran go into the last game with 3 points, Great Satan with 1, so the USA would need the win to get through.

that red card was wild, can anyone explain more about it? the keeper came too far out or was too aggressive or what
It was incredibly dangerous and could be argued (it was pretty clear IMO) to be a denial of a goal scoring opportunity since there was no one in goal and that's always a red card. So it could've been a red card for two different reasons.
I love Taremi. He's been great this year for my club as well and the way he works so hard and is so smart with his decisions is always great to see. If he was a better finisher he would be one of the best strikers in the world.
