Edit
I'm on a vpn. If you're not - does the example link work for you?
What does work for me.
-
I can go to https://github.com/
-
Then I can search - https://github.com/search?q=bypass+paywalls&type=repositories
The problem is there are two pages of results.
The repo got taken down due to DMCA and the user is blocked, so you wouldn't see anything there, even if you did log in.
The repo got taken down due to DMCA and the user is blocked,
Ah, hah.
so you wouldn't see anything there, even if you did log in.
Haha.
Thanks for reminding me to delete my account. It's been trying to force that log-in thing for a while for me at least. Imagine making a competitor to GitHub that sucks even worse
Earlier today I created a new repo in github for a personal project, and for a second I thought "I hate that they scrape this for AI but at least it works"
Then I realized that gitlab most likely does all that AI shit but somehow even worse
I hope my code makes those models even worse
Just use codeberg for your personal projects, or notabug.
Or just self host if you don't plan on having any contributors and just need a personal git remote.
It was way better than github for a long time. But the Era of Zero Interest Loans died of CoVID. So capital instructed them to focus on enterprise monetization because thats where the guaranteed money is. They'll make money off of all the companies that are already locked in. But they won't get anyone new so they'll go the way of SourceForge eventually.
Microsoft could easily be running GitHub at a loss and it be worth it to maintain market dominance. GitHub is the Microsoft Office for programmers and both are basically critical infrastructure for the economy.
Sign up for codeberg.org instead! It's free and you'll love the lack of ads and LLM spyware.
well I'm just getting the cloudflare "verifying you are a human" page on repeat so you got me beat
also title says github not gitlab?
also title says github not gitlab?
I am not observant. I'm actually going to google anti-phishing extensions because I am at that level of unobservant.
Specifically for bypass-paywall-clean, the person took it down from gitlab because they got DMCA'd https://twitter.com/Magnolia1234B/status/1779050596181438791
The clones (latest version) is saved here https://github.com/bpc-clone/bypass-paywalls-firefox-clean
As for Bypass Paywalls Clean, I uninstalled the GitLab-borne extension and installed the GitHub one today: https://github.com/bpc-clone/bpc_updates/releases
