one minor thing ive noticed recently (in a*stralia) is store bag-check loss prevention guards standing at the entrance of places like jb hifi (not new), but who used to have the cover of also being the smiley greeter face in chinos and store logo polo etc. ive started seeing them now wearing black security uniforms with yellow police-style hi-vis vests over them with all the military-style ammo and accessory pockets and even rows of the blue-and-white police check pattern (kinda like this), and its clearly entirely to intimidate and give the impression of being some kind of judge dredd riot cop with law enforcement powers passed down directly by the state to shoot on sight if they even suspect you of stealing some shitty $20 treats
