There's so much contempt, even hatred, of artists that is out there in defense of this unmitigated and underregulated technology right now.
On top of that, there is a lack of meaningful protections for people targeted by fake revenge porn, so their careers, reputations, and even their lives are threatened. Some, including in this thread, either ignore that part of it or say something :reddit-logo: like "bad people would do bad things with or without this technology anyway" to selfishly deflect the idea of the technology having bad consequences (faster, cheaper, and far easier revenge porn, or even child porn, or both at the same time) that should be considered.
