I can't take liberals seriously when they moan about this as an "insurrection". They stormed the capital, only to mill about the lobby like a weekend tour group. Honestly, it's kind of inspiring in a funny sort of way; it's proof that the right wing is just as atomized and disorganized as us. The only difference is, they don't realize this. If they had that sort of self-awareness, they wouldn't have made such a laughable attempt in the first place.

I feel like the people milling about like tourists kinda gives cover to the more serious chuds that were actually committed to violence.

yeah the real lesson to take is that you can use riled up libs as cover for real shit

this was done a few times in the summer of 2020 successfully, but not near enough

It's such an incredibly bizarre scenario. Clearly some went there with actual intentions to do harm but most of them seemed to have stormed and broken into the capital almost by accident. They just didn't know what to do once in there, they barely even did any damage.

I can't think of any equivalent event. All the dumb things that had to come together for a group to be angry enough to storm a seat of power, the power weak enough to let them, and the group utterly dissolved of momentum as soon as they got inside that seat of power.
