In my opinion? Definitely left. The question is how much.

The world is moving left more than ever before not from theory or economic conditions, but the access people have to information and more importantly, communication. The world is fundamentally different today with it being increasingly difficult for establishment capital to convince a nation of people that another nation of people is a threat that must be destroyed. It is much harder to convince a population that their best interest is to destroy and conquer their neighbors on the same scale humanity used to do centuries ago.

There is also a dramatic difference with older generations and younger ones. Younger people have had their formative years with access to the internet while older populations are accustomed to being spoonfed the same old ideas that conservatives thrived on for centuries. Even with a heavily propagandized nation, people simply are not as bloodthirsty as they used to be. Instead the best elites can hope for is apathy instead of enthusiasm of old. Personally I think my parents are fucking weirdos/psychopaths for believing the shit they do, and are a constant reminder that we were wearing powdered wigs not too long ago.

Support for capitalism by the general populace has moved from strong support, to becoming skeptical. Obviously libs are not interested in changing anything yet, but its harder to convince people now that everything is fine :this-is-fine:.

I think a lot of the right wing movements you are seeing are not because conservatism is enjoying a new age of growth. They are being pushed aggressively because conservatives are fucking terrified of what is happening. They know it. That is why there is such a strong emphasis on misinformation because everything thing they believe in is demonstrably wrong. Truth is not the friend of conservatives and increasingly... the truth is what is going to help people survive.
