    The only good reason I can think of to own something like this (apart from just thinking it's cool) is if you hike and/or work outside in areas with lots of venomous snakes?

      For hiking the only thing I'd want to carry is a 10mm like a Glock 20. Over twice the capacity of a revolver, still enough punch to stop a bear or mountain lion, easily controlled. Rattle snakes around here mind their own business unless you stumble upon them, and they're so well-camouflaged that you usually don't see them until you're within striking distance.

      My dad had .38 caliber shells with some kind of pellets encased in a matrix. Snake charmer I think he called it? Anyway you don't need shotgun shells to shoot a snake. You just leave it the fuck alone, snakes don't like to interact with people and only bite when cornered.
