Seems like you make nothing from Spotify as a musician
Switched to using Bandcamp after the Spotify ceo announced the €100 million investment in that German AI weapons company, Helsing.
It wouldn't surprise me if it's not just a reference to the original character from the 1897 Dracula.
Has it made a difference like it did for the guy that made the video?
Sorry, to clarify, I'm just a user; not an artist.
if you're a Bandcamp user you'll know all this already:
Bandcamp still takes a 10-15% cut on sales plus a payment processing fee, but I consider that way more fair than spotify's set up and it's aided by the fact that the artist can set a minimum price and users can purchase at a higher value if they wish. There's also Bandcamp Fridays, which are continuing in 2023, which are specific Fridays on which 100% of sale proceeds go to the artist. The next Bandcamp Friday is 3 February 2023.
