I've been applying for internships for the past month in the Data Science field, and I've been marking yes each time even though I was unsure if it would help. I've been getting only rejections so far, and while it may just be a number of factors, I can't help but consider all constants. Is this a known issue or am I just being paranoid?

CC 305 identification should have no bearing positive or negative on your application. As someone who interviews software engineers and gives final recommendation on the hiring process, I was not privy to this information at any time. HR probably processes this information, but only to prevent lawsuits due to lack of accommodations. If you self identify and ask for accommodations, I believe they are supposed to provide them to the best of their ability or at least to the minimum extent of the law.

I would assume this is true at big companies, but at small companies I would doubt there is enough of a barrier between HR and hiring.
