The worst thing punk has by comparison is the "king of the pit" who stands in the middle and shoves anyone else who tries to stand in the middle. The worst of those I ever saw were a few very large nazi punks at a Subhumans/Total Chaos show in San Diego

I'm kinda surprised at least Dickie didn't call that out. Guarantee he would have if noticed, total chaos are a bit off my radar after the mid 90s but did you know prior to bring super strretpunk they were part of the socal peace punk scene and were basically antisect worship?

Regardless, someone doing that shot here would be beaten within an inch of their life and driven out to the side of the highway. Even just someone who is new to shows and jocks out gets pulled aside by scary people and gets a talking to about proper etiquette

I did not know that about Total Chaos, I didn't even know they were from socal. It was a huge show, one of the biggest venues/crowds I've seen, so maybe they didn't notice. Socal has a nazi (punk) problem, but the LA scene has a lot of Chicanos who throw down regularly. Funny how THEY get a reputation for fighting at shows. I once got in a flamewar on the punk subreddit for pointing out Narcoleptic Youth were extremely problematic and the lengths I had to go to convince those idiots was unpleasant
