    Americans of irish descent dissapoint me so often. I don't know how they came to the conclusion that our ancestors being treated like garbage means it's okay to be racist to other poor people. I always took the lesson that I have more in common with the disenfranchised than anyone else, and will lose my rights the minute it becomes useful, as that's how they were given.

      Much in the same way that Italians adopted Columbus as the father of America to assimilate and stop getting hate crimed the Irish did the same. Surprisingly a huge part of it was youth sports via CYO leagues

      We must learn from this and remember that true acceptance will come from liberation of the hierarchy and not assimilation into jt.
