yeah without a doubt. the volume of it and the upvotes from lurkers makes it so draining though. also like what are we going to do, start asking for proof someone is trans? I'd be terrified of discouraging someone from transitioning. idk when I have the energy I just take them at face value and dismantle their points until they're forced to admit that these policies are genocidal and that the courts are not going to stop it, short of a literal act of god. but at best that gets one person to reconsider and no lurker reads below the fold.

the amount of libs lurking in trans spaces looking at us like we're zoo animals and poking us with sticks is incredibly fucking frustrating. if those people were really trans id bet they have zero experience in the outside world and are questioning. even i had some stupid takes before i went full time and actually started visibly transing my gender and i was a commie from the start.

its a bit of a waste of time to deal with trans spaces on reddit. its better to get involved locally in the trans community. i do resource work for our local LGBT orgs, who always need volunteers. you meet a ton of cool people and you get to help people out in a rough spot. feels like a way better use of time than our lame ass local DSA at least. it always feels good to help someone get their act together and then they ask you why youre so generous and helpful. i just shrug my shoulders and say 'im a communist' and it clicks for a lot of them.

yeah for sure. I swear to god 75% of people left of DSA in my area are some flavor of trans or non-binary. hell, the circle of people I normally work had - peak - 3 whole cis het people that I know of. I swear to god there's no faster way to crack eggs en masse than to transition in front of new leftists lol.

community building projects are so rewarding.
