    As opposed to Juan Guaido, who was 'unilaterally' recognised (by the West) as the interim president of Venezuela, despite the fact that not even the opposition parties had agreed to support him. The only discussions were between Guaido and the U.S State Dept.

        It's cos he was Leopoldo Lopez's acolyte, and Lopez was already heavy in the State Dept sauce but was banned from running. Apparently Guaido used to call Lopez 6 times a day.
