I figure we could watch game/match live streams mostly. We'd never really run out of live content, since there are events all over the world happening year round.

UPDATE: "The Cytube has a very decentralized, horizontal, and anarchistic moderation system, which is to say people just do stuff and it’s generally worked out. I handled Friday movie nominations and the required piracy for a while, before i had to touch grass. Looking to resume that somewhat shortly but getting back to topic;

The hexbear cytube is over-watched by the site dev team in terms of tech stuff, but individual channels are run by their own mod teams. There’s not really a council or anything like that to decide which channels are “official”.

You should be good just registering a sports channel. It’ll set you up as admin for that channel and you can start queueing vids. It’s fairly painless to get one set-up, and sitemods are almost always willing to pin or feature a post close to showtime. Im willing to bet if you get a regular viewing schedule set up for a bit they’ll get it listed on the front channel list and start mentioning it in the mega."

-@Zoift in a PM to me

I'll get the channel up and running tomorrow. Probably just gonna start with whichever MLB afternoon game. PM me if you want to also be a channel admin!

SECOND UPDATE: Based on the limitations of Cytube (the web program that Hextube is forked from), it looks like I won't be able to make this whole thing work like I had planned, i.e. using embedding to send feeds from various sports streaming sites to Hextube. If anyone is more-code savvy than me and can host a server for the channel, I'd be interested in helping out, but given my current capabilities, I am personally at a loss for how to proceed and this appears to be dead in the water, lmao.

      Definitely a solid event for the hypothetical channel. I hope there's enough interest for it in general. Do you happen to know which user runs Hextube? I'll look regardless

      Yesss we are very hands off with the cytube you can make whatever channels you want as long as you aren't being a reactionary dipshit.

      Do it. I was in Australia back in 2014 and caught a game at MCG and another at Etihad. Probably the most exciting live sport I've ever watched. Non stop action, amazing catches, pretty physical. The matches come on at like 3am where I live, so I'm stuck with youtube highlights. Wonderful game

      Go sainters!

    Hey I see you got with zoift but if you want we can import the emotes into your new channel from c/movies if you would like, just PM me. There's also some settings that usually need set for the queue and some nice CSS stuff you can do so PM me if you have any questions.

      Ok cool, thank you. I'll be in touch regarding emotes, queue settings, and CSS after the stream embedding issue gets fixed

        Stream embedding is one of the biggest PITA with cytube. Only a few sites are supported. There should be a list on the cytube faq GitHub

          Yep. From the list I saw on GitHub it's only made to work (un-modded) with YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Soundcloud, Streamable, Livestream. com, Twitch, UStream (possibly broken, per the FAQ), Smashcast, and Mixer

    Hell yeah. NBA playoffs just about to start. Champions league getting to the good part. F1, although we already know who is gonna win. Nice to see there are some sports fans here :fidel-bat:

      I know a guy who can do all live sports channels on your fire stick for $25 a month

    Ahhh shit, should have thought of that. Cytube is a picky beast when it comes to native support for hosting services There's ways around it with browser plug-ins and scripts. GreaseMonkey and Tampermonkey are the most popular ones, but they're fucky and will require a bit of tech know-how that I only dabbled in on the old cytube. At work right now, but will do some digging for you.

      Oh, thank you so much. To expand on what exactly my tech knowledge is, I do not know how to code lol. I know that google (or in this case stack exchange and a glossary of computer and software terminology, I guess) is my best friend for dealing with stuff like this, and I am confident that I can follow instructions for making small tweaks, and copying what/pasting it where. Other than that I might as well be out to sea with no compass.
