Imagine being so sexist you're more concerned about fairness (actually revenge against liberal women, I guess?) than the idea of being drafted.
any guesses what the overlap is between people who complain that only men are forced to serve in the military and not women, and the people who complain that the military is getting too woke and effeminate to fight America's enemies?
Going by the replies? 100%. It appears to be a kind of cognitive dissonance where they know that conscription is bad but also their male pride is keeping them from saying it outright.
I watch a lot of construction and carpentry vids on social media as that is one of my interests and the comments are often times filled with: WHERE ARE THE FEMINISTS?!?!?! FEMALE COULD NEVER DO THIS! type of stuff. Like, imagine seeing a guy build a nice door and you think to yourself: how can I make this about hating women?
To be fair, once in a while you get a white upper-class woman who is either (1) suffering from extreme self-hate, or (2) has figured out a profitable grift appealing to very online right-wingers. Or both.
One would like to think so, but Abby Shapiro and H. Pearl Davis somehow... exist.
the war with China is coming soon
also, you're basically forced to register when you turn 18 under threat of prison time, so what difference does this even make?
Aren't these the people who are breathing down everyone's necks claiming that women can't/shouldn't be eligible for military service?
I spoke to one who claims to be a 23 year veteran. He said that unmarried women with no kids should be first in line be ause they voted for this. Which is insane but that guy strikes me as a coward and a liar.
I'm a veteran too and I still wouldn't want to send hordes of people to go die for a bullshit cause. But I might be the exception.
Oh so they are indeed going forward with the conscription plans. Cool.
Conscription would be a political disaster. Shades of Vietnam all over again.
(Not that that would stop the geniuses we have in charge from trying it).
I'm pretty sure you have to enroll yourself but are legally required to do so (but it's been a while since I turned 18)
