I don't understand private trackers recruitment, and never will especially the top ones. Thanks to to trackers Like RED you have people spending hundred dollars a month on seed boxes while people that can't afford one have to slowly build their buffer. Spotify, and others services have diminished the popularity of music trackers you would think they would make it easier, and more fun.

All of exclusive sites mostly recruit on RED like passthepopcorn, and broadcasthenet

Somehow there is a hierarchy for online piracy, and I wish it could be more like myanonamouse

Yeah, private trackers are a pain in the ass and I've never gotten far with them. Personally I think Soulseek is way better than torrenting for music and ebooks

I'm very very grateful that I got into what, ptp, btn, bibliotik, etc. when I was like 13 and it was way easier to get in and build ratio. I don't even know how I'd begin if I had to start now. I try to do my part by pirating anything and everything that my friends want for them.

Good luck to you all. I do feel like they're being unnecessarily protective for the sake of feeling elitist, but these sites are second to none in terms of being libraries of the media they specialize in. The sheer amount of content and wonderful content discovery-enabling organization has opened my eyes to so many great works of art. In the end, whatever measures they have to take to protect themselves I think are worth it.

Ptp and btn have been at capacity for like a decade now. Like I straight up don't remember the last time you could buy an invite on there.

But yeah, priv trackers are great because you can typically find some pretty obscure stuff, there's decent discussion and curation, and of course it's just nice to pirate without a vpn and never receive a threatening email.

Look, it has nothing to do with the music. It has everything to do with building an ingroup. This entire post is complaining about not being allowed into a high-status ingroup. Successful ingroups have barriers to entry. The more formidable the barriers to entry, the more status is accrued to members. Think of Ivy League universities.

That being said, this entire post reads from the inside of an ingroup - who's RED? Who are the other sites mentioned in passing, like everyone should know them already? I publicly admit to being in the dishonored outgroup.

Well you could either join RED https://interviewfor.red/en/index.html (the ssl certificate expired, and OPS Orpheus https://interview.orpheus.network/ Which is for music

For books I recommend myanonamouse https://www.myanonamouse.net/inviteapp.php

Torrentleech has open signups today, and you can see some others that have open signups on this subreddit https://old.reddit.com/r/OpenSignups/

the fuck? I feel like I manage just fine with my puny little odroid box. Is that how people are getting to ranks like Elite Torrent Master on RED?

I am not cool enough, by the time I download something no one wants it from me so my ratio is gone

yea i guess i need a seedbox. i got an IPTorrent account, but when i even try to seed something it does barely anything. luckily VPN and public sites have most things i want or need. but yea its fuckin stupid.

you can always run your own seedbox if its important. especially for small files like music an old laptop would work fine.

I have never fucked with the pirate clicks. Everything is usually available without the posting credit requirements. IDK why they even bother anymore outside of actual cracker/repacker circles.

I was just using a deezer downloader for a while. Are there any still working? Deezer doesn't have everything but the selection wasn't bad.

the ones that teach/test basic torrent/AV file knowledge are probably a good service because they force people to learn how this stuff works and encourages contributions. The "power user" ones fucking blow.
