For all things programming. Posts with actual code encouraged, but discussions around programming and developer experiences are OK too.

Basically /r/programming without every other post being a shitty Medium post or trying to sell you some SaaS product you don't need (I'm aware those two aren't mutually exclusive). It can act as a catch-all until people feel the need to splinter into more specific communities.

    I think communities favoring a certain post type (e.g. code encouraged, discussions ok) should be limited as much as possible, because such divisions can easily be categorized with post tags and post filtering, which is a feature coming soon. Having c/programming and c/learnprogramming unnecessarily fractures the community, because post tags will do that job just as easily but will keep people all in one community rather than sequester learners into an area of their own.
