But I'm mostly complaining about all the seats I encounter out in public :picard-annoyed:

But for real though, I read an article a few years ago about how things are designed around an "average man's" size and this cursed knowledge means that now when I'm out in public and my legs dangle or I can't reach something, in addition to being annoyed that things are too big for a woman of average height, I'm also pissed because it's all because of the damned patriarchy. Though really, that's not the worst thing. Seatbelts and airbags are a lot less safe for someone of my height. There was a whole section on crash test dummies that was pretty scary, to be honest.

Oh yeah, my partner was telling me the other day that they never really bothered to crash test with female dummies and that's why so many women tended to get seriously injured over men

It's absolutely bananas how little people care about women even though they're always freaking out about them

Yup! If I set the seatbelt as low as it will go, it still runs across the bottom of my neck, which can't be good. As for the crash test dummies, the "woman" and "child" crash test dummies they use--when they bother to use them--are just scaled-down "man" crash test dummies, so they don't even accurately show how an actual woman or child's body reacts in a crash. The weight distribution, skeletal density, musculature, etc is all off.
