On the one hand, good for him. On the other hand this is similar to Vettel's environmentalism. Like the F1 championship is essentially an ad for many countries where it's illegal to be an lgbt person, so the gesture feels empty.
Indeed. Lewis was :bootlicker: Elon Musk recently, so that's fun.
Admittedly, I haven't really been following this season at all for the first time in years. Max Verstappen is gonna have it easy for years to come (and all the other concerns like, "cars bad" or the race calendar being bloated nowadays) so why bother?
That's such a fucking bummer. I know he's a millionaire race car driver, so you can't expect much, but still!
Tbh this season it looks like we may have a battle between Perez and Max (we all know who to root for here) that could be pretty exciting. The field is also like really really close to eachother now, I think in race 1 the entire field was like a half a second within eachother
Same here, I started getting back into the sport after a 10 year or so absence in 2021, but it’s just not my cup of tea anymore. I’m afraid I can’t stomach Max winning, and the changes they’ve made “for the show” just aren’t for me. I feel like an out of touch old fart for saying that, but maybe that’s just who I am now!
I’ve really enjoyed the IndyCar I’ve watched this year. It’s obviously not the same in terms of engineering, but the racing has been a lot of fun (such as Alabama last week). I miss the fuel strategy days of F1 too, so it’s been nice seeing a strategic race mixed in with some great battles.
