If I said "something/someone got corrupted and glowing eyes were involved and the finale is an ambiguous cliffhanger" I'd have spoiled most of Blizzard's Epic Storytelling games. :troll:
I know WoW's story telling went off a cliff, I think they've used elder gods like 3 or 4 times now.
I've gotten so much shit from :freeze-gamer: for saying that elder gods and "corruption" are boring, lazy, and uncreative, especially after so many repetitions.
"You clearly do not understand the story" :wojak-nooo: is the usual go-to reaction to that.
They did a good corruption plot in SC1 and then a serviceable bog standard fantasy version with WC3 and then forgot how to tell any other plot and just had repeated corruption/redemption arcs to fill in SC2
