I keep thinking about this every time our liberal journos try to stir shit against AMLO. Today we are enjoying another iteration of their never ending stream of open letters signed by disgraced journalists and intellectuals, the twist in this one is that they gathered 650 signatories, the claims are just hilarious saying that they are being persecuted and censored, absurd AMLO limits himself to clapbacks in his daily morning talks and this is what they are trying to equate to a vague understanding of authoritarianism its just so dumb. The cherry on top is that these pampered whores never criticized the openly documented system of media control pioneered by the president who launched our bloody war against the drug cartels.

All of this to say that I half remember that this was the same sequence played before deposing Evo, maybe a Biden admin is more open to the idea? His foreign policy is very worrisome for me.

I remember hearing about lithium in mexico and got scared. After what happened in Bolivia I thought we might get a repeat of a leftist president being toppled again. Again, again....

True, I have some relatives in Mexico so my mom and dad worry and I guess I'm not helping in that regard. As for leftist I guess I used it as a general term. When we get bombarded here with Bernie being a far left radical I guess it subconsciously affected me. You're right center-left is a better description.

Awww, hope they're ok. Yeah, sadly I want to emphasize center left cus otherwise americans tend to misunderstand the admin either from the right (evil castro-chavez radical who will make México worse becauseitwasn'tbadbefore) or the left (poor, sweet, good man who, gosh darn it, just wants to make everything better and everyone is conspiring against him because they won't let The Left win!)

You're right even though I would love a leftist president in Mexico it would be best if I'm grounded in reality and not get blinded to see what I really want to see. I need to see about doing some research into President Amlo just need to find some reputable sources. I'm embarrassed to say you more or less nailed how I saw him from the left. Any thing you can recommend on his administration?

But AMLO instantly said he would leave the lithium to be exploited by the free market, so he's safe there. AMLO ain't a leftist. At best he's center-left, and has been a big proponent of thatcherian style austerity measures.

Damn, my disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined. But seriously that kinda sucks, guess I got on the hype train for Amlo and didn't pay to much attention.

I believe he had good intentions on the last presidential cycle, but he was ratfucked by the PRI, so, hungry for power, created his own party and filled it with establishment political operators to be able to win, and now he's paying back all the favors he asked for on the presidential race. That, and he's senile as fuck.
