    i once found an opensource game with hardcoded keybindings, written with this layout in mind.

    man that was fun to attempt to play on a qwerty keyboard layout... cos ZQSD is so much better than WASD.

      We non-US-keyboard players go through this regularly. In those cases just use setxkbmap fr (on linux) or the keyboard control thingy at the bottom right (on windows) before playing.
