We are finishing Edgar Snow's 'Red Star Over China' and have decided to change our book club to focus specifically on China from 1940- present day now, if that makes sense? Any suggestions for our next book? Thanks comrades!!

It is scoped to a smaller timr period and location, but I recommend Fanshen by Hinton.
After reading accounts of the Long March in that book, I was just overwhelmed with awe and respect for the people who did that. Absolutely one of the greatest feats in human history, truly an unbelievable accomplishment
Also, just plug for Red Star Over China, great read- really informative, goes into specifics and also anecdotes- very cool!!
