Since we've been talking about satire being dead a bunch. Author does a really great history of Warhammer 40k, and also goes over why Neo-Nazi's keep showing up at 40k events despite Games Workshop saying "it's satire bro".

I used to listen to a lot of TotalBiscuit (I know) and always felt massively uncomfortable whenever he'd start talking about 40k stuff. He'd go from this nerd games critic to gleefully saying "exterminate the xeno for the emperor" and it never felt humorous, it felt like a weird power fantasy he was indulging in. I guess that's how a lot of nerds end up viewing the Space Marines.

Personally I was always more into the Necrons. They're robots but also skeletons, so it's like the best parts of the two coolest things.

I used to play Tau, back when they were the actual FALC faction before they got retconned into the worst "Chyna Bad Xinjiang Uyghur Genocide TIANANMEN SQUARE" parody imaginable.

His roaming fandom hordes going out of their way to harass and review bomb indie games because of violations of the sacred FOV/framerate doctrines soured my opinion of him forever.

Thank you so much for posting this. I will be using this as a summary of so many pages of my own takes on the "satire" excuses for chud hog feeding.
