i feel like you're over reacting. the company selling it to you for 60 bucks to begin with should have been considered scalping but most people don't view it like that. your gf is just someone trying to pay their bills. they're not hoarding water to sell during emergencies. it's just a thing someone with money who can afford it anyway is gonna buy. if someone can't afford it, oh no they wont be able to play the game on native hardware. wait and you can emulate it if you can't already.
it's the same for the ps5 scalpers. only well off people could've afforded it at the base price anyway so i couldn't really care less if for once those people got priced out of something or if they had to sacrifice a little more to get their entertainment. especially during that time when it came out.
That may all be so, but nobody who explains the economics of luxury goods arbitrage to a kid on their birthday is going to come out of that situation looking any good.
