You know people rightfully shit on the adaption for missing the point of the story. But I always found that the story itself seems to ignore the fact that these vampires still fucking eat people. Like we can be all "Oh he's the real monster", but they're literally cannibals and constantly try to eat him and taunt him about his dead family.
I never got the idea it was about who the real monster is but rather that monstrosity is about perspective. Humans are extinct, he is the mythical creature that comes in the day and will kill you if you're bad.
His actions are not really different from the vampires, from necessity they hate and kill each other not recognising the humanity shared.
I Am Legend is an even better Will Smith adaptation.
The remake is fixing the grammatical error and calling the movie "I am a legend"
