I think that is fine, and that not approving any new comms actually stifles existing posters, the quality of which is what has thee potential to attract new people. Even if you find reddit insuffferable you might go to a particularly good subreddit there, people who don't 100% agree with us here could do the same. And frankly: what is actually harmed by a ghost town sub? at least then there is a consolidated place to post on a given topic, and find old posts in the same vein, even if it's only one post a week, who cares? just about everyone browses by All anyhow, so everyone will still have the opportunity to see every post more or less
