As opposed to incel, volcel is voluntarily celibate. It means that (usually) he can get laid, sometimes pretty easily, but chooses instead to avoid sex.

    I always though that this was supposed to be irony/cope. At least, that's what I remember the point of it was back on the old sub.

      It started out as a joke but as the site culture matured here it became a way to gently chide people who were getting too horny. So it's irony, but it also has a purpose.
