One time I auditioned to be bass player for this metal band and I wanted to sorta show off, so I did a bunch of Les Claypool shit (thumping, tapping, strumming). They said it was cool, but they'd need to re-jig their sound around it.

Then one of the guitarists asked "How do you feel about playing with a pick?" I pulled mine out and started doing a bunch of Lemmy things.

I didn't make it into that band.
