I can't stop playing this banger. It's been months now (right?) so send me alternatives. What are you obsessed with?

Naughty. I've heard a couple of beats and previews of this but totally missed it coming out. Listening now, but also saving for more sober analysis.

Enjoying it. Definitely exposing my jazz bias 'cos it really picks up at Blue Smoke and then finds a vibe for me. Beats in general are catnip for me.

Year Zero is fire. Keep repeating. Love the ominous beat (I'd heard a sample of) but absolutely fulfills. Sooner or later there's gonna be two active shooters and from there is fucking mint. Grounded but very Octagon/later KK and Aesop (later I know) vibe I'm getting in that moment. Obviously I'm a Danny fan but his half the track is like his shit in microcosm... starts alright, some humour, gets on the beat, gets weird with the beat, preempts the beat. You can tell he's a trumpet player.

In general I'm liking not just the flow I expect from BW, but the up against the mic delivery too on some of the solo tracks that have that escalating feel. You can hear the spit, literally, on second half on Hangman.

Houdini's slowed beat with quicker rhyme and then hook-focus is a great and smart intro into an awaited Aesop feature. There's more than a bit of Aesop influence earlier, so the chop and change is smart. Especially when Aesop is gonna use a beat like a suggestion to bend to his will.

I like the stripped down sound and pedestrian (literally, not as criticism) lyrical switch of NYC Tapwater after too. Like that just because it's a chill breather doesn't mean it doesn't have a real downbeat lyric or two to tee up the (maybe bittersweet) but slightly more heartfelt closer.
