Any info on these miners and rebels? I hardly ever hear about what's going on in Africa. Do the rebels have legit grievances? Is the West funding anyone? Is China cringe in this situation? What's the dealio?
The United States has long supported economic growth, the rule of law, and political stability in CAR, and it remains concerned about the high levels of violence and worsening humanitarian crisis.
The African Engagement (in contrast to the Euroasian one) is going on for quite a while already. It isn't a change caused by the coup-petit. The question in regards to weapons and equipment is new to me, but that would be quite interesting.
