How do you escape this vicious cycle? All I've come up with is drinking.

Edit: I got my last job by downing two shots before the interview...

And of course, as soon as I lost the job, I lost the health insurance and had to suddenly go cold turkey off multiple psychiatric meds.

I want to say America is fucked. But in Canada, the waiting list for a practice is months if not years, and most insurances don't cover a lot of psychotherapy. Universal healthcare does not cover mental health, dental health, or eye health here.

    Sorry this is happening.

Depending on your situation you may be able to get prescriptions for meds from one of the online script mills that are popping up. I can't offer specific recommendations and obviously this is far from ideal but I used one to get an antidepressant prescription without having insurance. Cost me like $80 for the "consult" which happened entirely over chat.

This only helps with getting prescriptions. It unfortunately doesn't do much as far as med costs or therapy needs.

Yeah I'll see if there's anything like that that will accept Medicaid. Thanks.

Honestly for antidepressants, the cheaper route may be just getting them on the deep-dark-under-net from countries like India. Probably depends on the antidepressant though.
