Atheism+ tried something like that some years back.
The
New Atheists got so mad at the idea of atheism being about anything but feeling smug and superior to religious people that they overreacted until a lot of them found 
or Singularity(tm) cults.

The movement was called Atheism+ and the euphorics at
aggressively rejected it as "SJW" and all that.
Humanism came way before that but didn't get as much of a reactionary backlash, at least not all at once.
