Maple logs inoculated from sawdust in summer 2021. Red stuff is cheese wax which I used to seal the inoculation sites

    Usually with logs you don’t get anything for a year, a massive flush year 1 and then it calms down but keeps going for a few years depending on the log size. This is with shiitake . The oysters took 2 years.

      We’ll I’m not holding my breath but I guess I will keep an eye on those guys and maybe they’ll come through. Congrats on your harvest anyway.

        Luckily shiitakes are very easy to ID so you might even get some out of a contaminated log
