This bill is unenforceable, I don't know how its not gonna back fire they literally will just what send tickets to the parent for the kids using their phone even thats a stretch, they just seem mad they cant control the internet and popular option so we are gonna pass a bill to make our selves feel better. The enforcement will come in restricting search operators from displaying that content. Think of it like how google removes DMCA'd content with a notification message at the bottom of the search results of removed results.
This targets the algorithm makers who are "promoting" this content by displaying it in results.
Maybe a dumb question but wouldn't this require the kids to sign into an account that says their a kid for this to work? This bill seems like a general dumb idea
Not if your approach is to stop the promotion of it, full stop, to everyone. You could achieve an effective ban of "lgbt propaganda" through solely choking the tech companies into algorithm suppression.
How are you going to know google isn't showing you it anymore if it's just an algorithm change? To you the web just feels shittier and considerably less gay. Same for reddit, tiktok, facebook, youtube, etc etc etc. All that content might still exist, so it's technically not illegal or banned, but suddenly it just doesn't find its way to people anymore.
