Tbh Portugal, Greece, and the other poorer EU nations have become colonies for the rich EU nations. Legitimately, there’s no financial reason to work in Portugal as construction workers, accountants, engineers, retail workers, i.e. essentially most jobs, end up paying much less than what you’d get in Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, etc. I know quite a few that left portugal and come back to visit in their €40k cars
Presumably portugal can just restrict trade with Angola without getting invaded and/or couped, so it's a little different
poor people of us go to europe, poor people of europe go to africa, so america and europe host people only within a certain wealth bracket, the rest can euthanize themselves or something
