cops are the worst people on the planet with regards to proper firearms handling. most safety systems today are descended from cops being too pig-stupid to use military safeties
gotta tightwalk between SIG and MIC fuckery around how fine their pistols are vs. stories of discharge being blamed on users over the gun
personally i think there might be some teeny problems with SIGs mechanically that contribute but most of it is market saturation with idiots. Glocks & company have had longer to work out those teeny problems as well.
