this is an alt. I regularly delete my main accounts comments. After my most recent deletion, I can no longer login.
is this the intended results?

Maybe you're already aware that "deleting" does not actually delete your comments, since you can undelete them at any time. If you actually want to remove the content of your contents, you would need to edit your comment to something else after deleting it.
These 2 things sound unrelated, but an admin would need to know what your actual account is in order to troubleshoot.
Several people have mentioned having trouble logging in after Hexbear was upgraded to v0.18. The solution is always to clear your cookies and cache or use another browser.
microfiche is talking about a handy hack that used to work, which was that if you delete your account (not a specific comment, your whole account), then what happens is not that your account was actually deleted, but instead, all of your comments were, but you could still log in with your same password. Apparently that was a bug, or, at the very least, unintended behavior, and has now been "fixed".
Hopefully lemmy devs will implement some other mechanism by which the entire comment and post history of an account can be deleted at once.
Yeah, there's no mention of that in the release notes. Probably there should be a note added somewhere warning that your account actually gets deleted now.
delete account has never worked to delete an account. It has only worked, since this site’s inception, to delete comments.
Being a smartass doesn’t help much.
Sorry, I realized I was being toxic. I edited my comment to something hopefully more constructive.
I actually think they changed that, comments should get permanently deleted after 30 days now
