She absolutely knows. She isn't a fool. She's just doesn't give a fuck. Democrats aren't going to rock the boat. They are going to keep the ship of state on a nice even keel as it circles the toilet.
Pelosi is nominally the third-most powerful person in the country. You don't stumble into a position like that without knowing which levers are available to you. It has been the Republican's long-term plan to stack the courts so that in the case they lose executive or legislative power, they can prevent any reforms from being made. Now the Democrats are finding themselves in the same position. They are just as terrified of reform as the Republicans, and aren't too keen on putting up a fight when they can just spend the next 30 years telling us to keep on voting and getting nothing out of it until a whole generation of reactionary judges dies off.
