One of the funniest moments of my life happened at a trading card store
My brother and I were spending our allowances on getting specific Magic The Gathering cards when a little kid walks up to the other counter where they dealt with Pokémon cards
He holds up an Ancient Mew card and says, "how much can I get for this?" and the guy behind the counter goes "Sorry, I can't give you anything for it"
Kid leaves and then comes back a few minutes later, his mother in tow
The mom goes "Excuse me, did you just lie to my son?"
Guy behind the counter is unflappable, just goes "No, I told him I can't pay him for that card"
She says, "Excuse me, this is a rare, limited edition card and I was assured it had some value"
He says, "Ma'am, there are millions of that card out there. If you wanted what it was worth, I'd have to take a penny, cut it into eight pieces and give you a single piece of it. Would you like a single piece of eight for that card?"
She goes, "You just don't understand how collectibles work, I'm going to find someone who understands value!", grabs her kid by the scruff and drags him out

I had this, I think it came in a plastic pokeball which I broke by throwing it.
I think the only time I ever set foot in a Burger King was to get one of these. Sadly I think mine is long gone along with some other Pokémon ephemera (including my beloved Pokédex), but at least I still have all my cards!
