I think the distinction should be the audience, on reddit, the cruelty is the point though I do think the mods should be ready to pull the lever at the first instance of the sub becoming anything like reddit. With that said, I personally hate this and am probably gonna be blocking this sub from my feed
I don't think the cruelty can be removed from viewing violence as a casual spectacle, if that makes sense. I don't think you can casually watch horrific violence as entertainment and still keep your humanity.
