When my sibling was still living at home our dad's girlfriend at the time tried getting them sent to a boarding school in Mexico because they used corporal punishment. Also went through their diary and called their friends parents to inform them she thought they were having a non-hetero relationship with their best friend.

He's not that bad, he's just an asshole who drinks too much sometimes. Sorry that sounds awful.

Yeah this guy's and my mom did used to go through personal Facebook messages and shit when I was in high-school

That felt violating. There's things about me they know that i wanted to keep private, and didn't plan on telling them because they made that choice to violate my privacy.

My dad is much in the same. Like he'll have good days where he's nice and acting sane then he just flips the script and goes bonkers on other days or even mere hours later. Almost want to say the man is borderline.

My parents were the same way. You never knew who was walking in the door. I realized later that everyone has bad days or bad moods, but you need to own it. When I get upset or am in a bad mood, I apologize and tell my kids that I was in a bad mood and it's my fault.

My parents never apologized and just left me thinking I was the problem.
