    Yasuke is depicted as a samurai in the Nioh games and none of these nerds cared at all. Those games are made by a Japanese studio even.

    Also from talking to a few friends the average Japanese person seems to regard Yasuke as one of the coolest guys to ever live

        yeah but he was also a real guy, William Adams. British guy who got to Japan in the 17th century, was one of only two survivors of a ship from Europe. He got appointed as an advisor type samurai to the shogun for ten years because the shogunate wanted western style boats.

        Also Nioh has you fighting wizards and giant frog monsters and stuff. It's awesome but I never once heard gamer types complain about historical inaccuracy.

        Main character of the first is William Adams, a fictional irishman who became a samurai, named after a real englishman who became a samurai. Japan, or at least Team Ninja, seems to have something of a love of foreigners who became samurai.
