seeing bridges being built blow my mind. once it's all constructed, it's impressive to be sure, but the order of operations to establish various members/components before they can rely on each other... it's so impressive. not to mention, all the bespoke design to create a smooth, flat plane over a bunch of wildly uneven ground.
Indeed. Although I've seen a lot of Chinese construction and it's clear that rather than bespoke, they have these modular flat pack designs that let them churn these things out en masse. I've been in about 8 identical high speed rail stations. In guizhou alone there are 30,000 bridges, and I've seen countless new ones under construction. Whenever I see one I'm like, oh I recognise that type.
The Chinese countryside just looks so beautiful, even on a foggy day like that.
It's actually mist from the multiple waterfalls cascading into the gorge. It is insanely beautiful.
