I'm so fucking glad I did. I've been on a hiatus from regularly practicing. My motivation has been lower and lower, even though playing music is my absolute favorite thing to do. Although not in one sitting, I did a whole 3 hours, and I was thrilled through each second of it. I gotta give a bit of a shoutout to my darling 💚 for giving me some inspiration here. Watching her play guitar just sparked that feeling in me more than anything else. I guess being connected through someone I love that dearly through my favorite thing pushed me.

I have a Yamaha. I got it as a completely free Christmas gift from a customer at my last job. It was a married middle-aged woman who talked to me about jazz a lot. I told her that I hadn't been able to play bass in a long time because I left my father's house and all my equipment was still there. I didn't get into too many personal details, but he kicked me out for being queer, so that's how I got to that point. This customer walked in around Christmas time with a Yamaha, and her son took a picture with me holding it because he loves music.

Hell yeah. I’ve got a Yamaha fretless I got from an uncle that I stare at and make “boi-oi-oing” noises with. My regular bass is a Jackson (fretted) because, despite a year of practice and lessons, I still can’t hack a fretless lol
